Why St. Cloud is one step closer to gaining air service in early 2013

We’re back from the JumpStart Air Service Development Program in Sacramento, CA, where we met one-on-one with airline executives to present our air service proposal. It was a whirlwind trip, one that left us with a positive outlook on our pursuit to bring air service back to our region.

KNSI Radio interviewed St. Cloud Airport Director Bill Towle, who also attended JumpStart. I encourage you to listen to the interview and read the article.

We got the feeling from at least a couple airlines that they are genuinely interested in learning more about our community. Building relationships with airlines take time and effort, and our trip last week was important for this process.

We’re in a waiting game right now, but we’re not just going to sit back; we’re reaching out to the airlines that showed interest to demonstrate how much we want them here and share information about central Minnesota and our market potential.

Since the campaign started in February, we’ve garnered more than $6 million in partnership support, exceeded our original goal of $5 million.

Get ready, St. Cloud – you’re one step closer to seeing a commercial airplane fly out of your airport in early 2013. Let’s Go!

Sounds great! I am glad the meetings went well! Also congrats to the GSCDC and the Airport for surpassing 6 Million! That is wonderful and proves the need for air service to STC!

Thanks for your support, Ryan. We’re already having visions of that first flight taking off in early 2013!
